Our passion lies in educating, designing, and building healthy, carbon-conscious structures using bio-based materials. We are skilled in integrating and working with traditional materials that have stood the test of time, requiring minimal conventional manufacturing and little to no petroleum-based products.
Who We Are
Buckeye Natural Builders believes that we can create better buildings by using natural and carbon-conscious materials, such as straw, hemp, clay and lime, as well as, reclaimed or sustainably sourced wood. We combine modern building science with traditional methods and materials. The result is a space that is beautiful and healthy for the people living in it, the people building it, and the natural world.
Based in Santa Cruz, California
While we tend to lead projects in the Bay Area we are more than willing to consult from afar and/ or help you facilitate a workshop through our professional membership with the California Straw Building Association (aka CASBA)
Our Services
We are a licensed, bonded and insured General Contractor in California with a focus on carbon conscious, natural building systems and finishes.
Our team provides design and build consultations as well as working with other GCs and owner builders to educate their teams and integrate bio-based materials successfully into their projects.
